biography

Gheed is the Assistant Government Liaison Officer for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Lebanon. She joined UNHCR at the peak of restrictive measures against refugees which made her understanding of refugee and migration policy more diverse, working with the organisation in fields varying from protection, status determination, resettlement programs, to communications and government relations.

Gheed is Lebanese, born in the United Arab Emirates and raised in Beirut, Lebanon. In 2015, she received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Studies. She is looking forward to broadening her horizons on public policy, learn from practitioners and experts in the field, and listen to the policy challenges her fellow classmates identify in their home countries. She will be taking a generalist track focusing on matters of global impact from a human rights lens.

Gheed is an Oxford-Lebanon Scholar.
