As part of Professor Eldar Shafir’s forthcoming visit to the School, there will be a special BBC Radio 4 recording of an interview with him, to be broadcast as part of the BBC Analysis series of programmes.

The event will be recorded in the Lecture Theatre, Blavatnik School of Government. BBC Broadcaster Jo Fidgen will interview Eldar Shafir, Professor of Psychology and Public Affairs at Princeton University, and co-author of Scarcity: Why Having Too Little Means So Much. Jo will explore the book's key idea: that not having enough of something like money or food or time, shapes all of our reactions, and ultimately our lives and society. There will be opportunity for the audience to put their questions to Professor Shafir. The interview will be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on Monday March 17 at 8.30pm.

Eldar Shafir is the William Stewart Tod Professor of Psychology and Public Affairs in the Department of Psychology and the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University. His research focuses on descriptive analyses of decision making, and on issues related to behavioral economics, with an emphasis on how people make judgments and decisions in situations of conflict and uncertainty.
