The Oxford COVID-19 Government Response Tracker (OxCGRT) is excited to announce a new seminar series on COVID-19 policy responses. The Seminar Series will take place in the Spring of 2024.

The OxCGRT Seminar Series aims to provide an innovative platform for scholars working on COVID-19 responses, offering an opportunity to present and discuss their ongoing research work as well as to connect with the broader research community.

A substantial body of research on COVID-19 policy responses has been published since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, however many questions remain unanswered. We are particularly interested in presentations on the causal links between pandemic responses and relevant social, political, and economic factors, but also encourage submissions on other topics broadly related to how countries responded to the COVID-19 pandemic. The seminar series is interdisciplinary, so we welcome presentations from all social science subfields without any theoretical or methodological restrictions.

The invitation for submissions is extended to all scholars working on COVID-19 responses, regardless of whether they are using OxCGRT data or not. We do have however a special interest in presentations of research that use the OxCGRT dataset.

We welcome submissions from both early career researchers and more senior scholars, and especially encourage contributions from traditionally underrepresented groups.

Submission guidelines

Applicants who are interested in presenting their research at the OxCGRT Seminar Series in spring 2024 should fill in this online form. The deadline for submissions is 19 February 2024.

In the form, applicants are required to provide a title and an abstract (300-500 words) of their presentation, as well as select at least three dates when they are available to present their research. Applicants will be notified of an acceptance decision by 4 March 2024.
