Alex’s career to date has focused on education policy, holding a variety of roles at the Department for Education from 2016 to 2023, including two years as the Secretary of State’s senior private secretary covering the schools portfolio. More recently, Alex was the head of private office to the Chief Executive of the Government Communication Service in the Cabinet Office. 

Alex recently completed a Masters Diploma in Public Policy at King's College London. Outside of work Alex is a governor at a special educational needs school in London.
