Eli's research focuses on the economics of public services, particularly questions of performance incentives and productivity. He plans to examine these issues in relation to the fragmented organisation of healthcare provision in single-payer systems, where profound technological and demographic changes are challenging old structures. Eli grew up in Sweden and is currently working on negotiating the annual healthcare budget for his home region of Stockholm. He has also worked for the UK Government, OECD and European Union.
Prior to Oxford, Eli studied at the University of Cambridge, Sciences Po, Stockholm School of Economics and London School of Economics (LSE). Eli is a Clarendon Scholar, and is grateful for the generous support of the Clarendon Fund in partnership with a Scatcherd European Scholarship and University College.
