biography

Ema has always been torn between academia and public policy, two captivating fields that she is now merging as she undertakes the MSc in Public Policy at the School. During her time on the MPP, Ema realised she could finally embark on her lifelong ambition—integrating gender perspectives into public policy. Currently, Ema is focused on finding ways to protect female politicians from the violence they encounter.

Ema's previous career took a different trajectory. For nearly five years, she dedicated herself to make Slovakia a place which is better served, better led and better governed. It was a distinct challenge, but one she approached with enthusiasm. Ema is particularly proud of the advances she made, notably through the Recovery and Resilience Plan that she helped to establish and implement. Ema's foundation in economics, built on degrees from Masaryk University and LSE, is now being put to the test as she navigates social policies and qualitative research.

Ema is a Blavatnik School of Government Scholar.
