biography

Florian Zarnetta's policy interests include foreign and security as well as climate and finance policy.

Originally from Westphalia in western Germany, Florian received his BA in political science and law from the University of Tübingen, where he specialised in international relations and public international law.

During his studies he worked in German politics at different levels of government and on election campaigns for the Social Democratic Party (SPD), holding a number of leading positions in the party and its youth wing, working on public policy issues from climate to finance.

During his year at Oxford, Florian hopes to broaden his analytical skillset while learning to become a better decision-maker and more effective communicator. He is keen on looking at policy debates from an international point of view and using this perspective to become a powerful agent for evidence-based policy-making within the SPD and beyond.

Florian is a Public Service Scholar.
