biography

James Small-Edwards is currently serving as Deputy Cabinet Member for Planning & Economic Development at the Westminster City Council.

James studied Philosophy and Politics at the University of Edinburgh and has worked as a Parliamentary Researcher for a Labour Member of Parliament in the House of Commons.

In May 2022, James was elected to Westminster City Council as a Councillor representing Bayswater. He believes that the Master of Public Policy will improve his performance and effectiveness in his brief.

James' key policy interests are macroeconomy, energy policy and foreign policy. He is looking forward to furthering his knowledge in these and many other fields during his time at the Blavatnik School of Government. James is an Oxford Graduate Scholar.
