Originating from Finland, Tatu is an economist currently serving at the State Treasury, where he plays a role in shaping the nation's economic policies. Tatu studied at Peking University in China, and later at the University of North Carolina.

Prior to his current position, Tatu contributed to the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, serving as an advisor in their UN mission in New York, engaging in diplomatic efforts. Additionally, Tatu had the honor of representing Finland in the OECD's public debt management meetings in Paris, collaborating with international counterparts to ensure effective financial strategies.
