biography

Fatima Bashir is a Sudanese public health and health policy professional.

Fatima is currently working as a grant management consultant with the UNICEF headquarters HIV Programme where she provides support to UNICEF’s PEPFAR/CDC partnership as well as providing technical support to UNICEF country offices implementing PEPFAR/CDC projects.

Previously, Fatima worked with UNDP (Geneva) HIV, Health and Development Group/Health Implementation Support Team, where she provided technical and management support to UNDP country offices managing Global Fund grants funded by The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.

Fatima's policy interests include health sector reform and sustainable health financing; inter-and-multi-sectoral policy approaches for health; digital health; and gender responsiveness of health programmes.

Fatima is a graduate of the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Khartoum, Sudan and holds a Master’s in Public Health with a Specialisation in Health Economics from Umeå University, Sweden.

Fatima is a Mo Ibrahim Scholar.
