biography

Raihan is a lawyer from Bangladesh with an LLM and LLB from the University of Dhaka. Raihan is currently working at the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society on the national implementation of International Humanitarian Law and also serving as the migration focal point. His work focuses on humanitarian diplomacy and policy documents review of the national society. Previously Raihan worked on regional policy issues at the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC), an intergovernmental organisation with seven member states from South Asia and Southeast Asia.

In the past, he has worked as a legal journalist with a reputed national newspaper for a good number of years and also as a consultant with several non-profit organizations and research institutions. Raihan is interested in diverse issues such as humanitarian and preventive diplomacy, climate change and migration, international law, governance of new technology.
